CONTINUING YOUR MSA THROUGH COBRA

When you have an MSA or Limited-use MSA and you leave your job, you may be eligible to continue to contribute to your MSA through the end of the plan year. TASC will contact you about continuation of coverage through COBRA. Your TASC Card will be deactivated on the day of your termination. If you do not elect COBRA, you can log in to your online account to request reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses you incurred by or before your termination date. You have until the end of the run-out period to request reimbursement of those expenses.

Your MSA or Limited-use MSA ends on the date you die, and the balance is not refunded to your survivors; however, an IRS-qualified dependent or beneficiary may continue an MSA through the end of the plan year under COBRA. TASC will contact your qualified beneficiaries about continuation of coverage through COBRA. If they do not elect COBRA, your beneficiary has 90 days from the date of your death or the end of the run-out period, whichever is sooner, to submit claims for eligible expenses incurred through your date of death.
